With this Frew will be the first woman to be appointed to the role in its 115-year history.Anita is currently the chair of the chemicals group Croda. She is slated to join the Rolls-Royce board on July 1. On October 1, she will subsequently succeed incumbent chairman Sir Ian Davis who has held the position for almost nine years.Rolls-Royce has been on the lookout to fill this position since last December, with Anita emerging as an "outstanding candidate".Anita has earlier held board appointments over the last two decades in the UK and globally. She was earlier the deputy chairman and senior independent director at Lloyds Banking Group.She has also previously held the position of a director at advertising group WPP and other roles at Royal Bank of Scotland.Sir Kevin Smith, senior independent director at Rolls, said: "She brings a wealth of experience from two decades of board appointments both in the UK and internationally, and her skills and reputation with investors and government institutions will be invaluable to the group."
