Stats suggest that in 2019 only 13 percent of Moroccan businesses were female-led. The government has since taken strong steps to improve women's participation in business and workforce. the Moroccan Parliament brought to life a new reform on July 31, 2021. The law mandated that public limited companies would have to foster a balanced representation of women and men in corporate governance bodies. mandatory quotas were set for women on the boards of publicly traded companies.The objective of the Moroccan government was to improve female representation to 30% by 2024, and 40% by 2027. The country is in the midst of a gender inclusivity renaissance and women leaders have formed the backbone of this evolution. The current edition of the magazine celebrates some such women.
