9 OCTOBER2024W MAN LEADERGLOBAL W MAN LEADERGLOBAL NEWS BITESThe 16th MedaWomen, a forum for female entrepreneurs in the Mediterranean, will be held in Tangier, Morocco, on October 34.The event, which will be held at Tangier's Palace of Arts and Culture, will provide a unique forum for discussing the challenges faced by female entrepreneurs in the area, learning about local and global experiences in this sector, and forming alliances and synergies with various public and private stakeholders. The forum has previously conducted 15 editions and has become a primary gathering place for representatives of the major political, governmental, financial, and economic institutions in the region following. It is noteworthy that a higher proportion of women than men found or lead start-ups in the Mediterranean region--one in three--than in Silicon Valley. In this way, the increase in start-ups throughout the Mediterranean is directly related to the higher number of female entrepreneurs in the area. Therefore, as was already mentioned in the previous year's edition, encouraging entrepreneurship is crucial to increasing the number of women in the business and economic spheres and, moreover, to drawing in new investment to the area. The speakers at MedaWomen 2024 will go over each of these concerns and try to come up with solutions that will help advance gender parity in the workplace, inclusion in the workforce, and the representation of women on executive committees. The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region (CCIS-TTA) and the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region will be coordinating the next MedaWomen event. In collaboration with the Federation of Mediterranean Businesswomen's Organizations (AFAEMME Spain), the Association of Moroccan Businesswomen (AFEM), and the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce (ASCAME), this global reference forum will be held.`Drawing on their expertise and experience in organising this type of event, all partner associations and institutions have a key role to play in the success of this sixteenth edition,' said Afailal Abdelatif, President of the CCIS-TTA.
