The future is Female

Women make up nearly half of the world’s population. One would expect that being equally represented in the demographic would naturally mean that women also receive equal opportunity and privilege. Unfortunate, that is far from the real-world scenario.

In reality women find themselves receiving the short end of the stick when it comes to opportunities and privileges.

Women’s empowerment and their increased representation in the workforce has been a constant struggle across the world. Additionally, women have also been under represented in leadership roles.

Every country has a unique relationship with gender-based development. When it comes to Switzerland, the scenario has been improving drastically over the past several years. The country is doing very well to close the gender-gap by taking a lead in women’s representation in politics and business.

In the 2021 edition of the, Switzerland rose up and joined the top 10 countries in 2021’s Global Gender Gap Report, which marked a significant improvement. Women in Switzerland are now better represented in all spheres of work, particularly in leadership roles.

The current edition of The Global Woman Leader introduces you to some of the best women leaders in Switzerland.

In this edition meet Sophie Laurenson, Founder and CEO, Limeburners Bay. Sophie holds a PhD in Biophysics and Bioengineering from the University of Cambridge. She also earned an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Molecular Genetics from the University of Auckland. With extensive experience, Sophie has held pivotal roles at Abbott, and Garvan Institute of Medical Research. She is a visionary leader in healthcare innovation, specializing in medical devices, regulatory affairs, and business innovation strategy.

We also introduce readers to Ursula Keller, CEO, Manari Consulting. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of St. Gallen, with an exchange experience in Geneva. Complementing her academic credentials, she successfully completed the Certified Global Negotiator (CGN-HSG) program, tailored for seasoned executives seeking to enhance their negotiating prowess. Through this program, she gained insights into various negotiation approaches and techniques, equipping her to navigate complex and high-pressure situations adeptly.

In this magazine edition also meet Cecile Civiale Vuillier, Partner & CEO, TrustConsult (Suisse) SA. Cécile with an extensive experience in wealth and estate planning, manages complex trusts and corporate structures for clients worldwide, notably in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. As Chair of the Wealth Management and Estate Planning focus Group of XLNC, she actively contributes to professional bodies like the International Bar Association and the International Tax Planning Association. Former Chairwoman of the Step branch in Geneva and the Step Swiss & Liechtenstein Federation, Cécile is recognized as a prominent figure in wealth management.
