Women Leaders Showcase Talent & Skill Globally

Sheryl Sandberg believes that “Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence." Women leaders of the world have proven time and again, how capable they are at leading teams adeptly and facilitating organizational success.

Be it any industry or geography, women leaders have disproved naysayers by contributing to the bottom-lines and creating inclusive and success teams. The current edition of GWL introduces you to a few such women leaders who have not only created a name for themselves in their respective industries but have also aided in taking their respective organizations further.

One such leader is Gerlinde Spitzl, CEO of Universitäres Zentrum für Zahnmedizin Basel (UZB), paved her way into healthcare management and leadership by a formative experience during her childhood. In a conversation with GWL she talks about her success mantra which centers on perseverance, positivity, and optimism. I firmly believe in leading by example, advocating for personal change to influence collective transformation.

She is joined by Heike Mahmoud, COO, CCH – Congress Center Hamburg (Hamburg Messe und Congress). Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Heike has received prestigious awards like the JMIC Profile and Power Award and the Paul Flackett IMEX Academy Award, motivating her to strive for excellence in all future endeavors. Beyond her professional achievements, she serves as an ambassador for 'The Iceberg Concept' Legacies of Business Events, embodying values of building enduring relationships and addressing social issues with leadership and expertise.

We also take you through the success journey of Elif Balkas, CTO, Wolfspeed. Elif, an adept research and development manager in the semiconductor industry, possesses significant expertise in technology leadership. She is a co-founder of the Women's Initiative at Wolfspeed and takes pride in being an alumnus of NCSU. With a rich background of over 20 years in the wide bandgap (WBG) materials domain, Elif has held various leadership roles in R&D and Operations, and she has number of patents and scientific publications in the silicon carbide technology field.
