Women have grossly been underrepresented in the field of law over the years. According to data shared by the International Bar Association, women’s representation as lawyers has risen to come at par with men. However, in leadership roles, women continue to be underrepresented. Today 51 percent of the total lawyers globally are women. But only 32 percent are part of decision-making roles. women’s rise in the judiciary has also been on the rise but work remains to be done to attain complete parity.

Stephanie Hanson, currently serving as the Chief Legal Officer at Tag Worldwide is another women CLO featured on the list. She pursued her education at Swanshurst Girls School in Birmingham and attained her LLB from the University of Greenwich. She continued her academic journey at the College of Law to complete her LPC. Outside of private practice, she has held roles in a variety of sectors including the travel, education, sustainability and publishing.
