One such leader is Caroline Prenn, Founder of Medical Aesthetics.

Initially studying medicine, Caroline finished her master’s in international business due to her sensitivity to the dissection course. Influenced by lifelong friends, Dr. Fabian Petschke and Dr. Reto Bale, she started Medical Aesthetics three years ago, valuing their intellectual and scientific exchange.

Caroline has over 20 years of experience in system engineering, business development, communication management, strategic planning and held executive positions in companies like Accenture, Microsoft and Epam Systems. Caroline is an expert in organization management, media experience, cloud and digital transformation of large organizations. Besides looking after Medical Aesthetics, Caroline is currently also engaged at Valtech focusing on business development in the health sector for the DACH region.

Embarking on a distinctive exchange with The Global Woman Leader magazine, Caroline divulges the intricate facets of her journey as a prominent leader in Switzerland. Let's explore further.

What inspired you to venture into the field of aesthetical treatments and dermatology? Tell us about the key areas of expertise that you have over the years.

My path to becoming an expert in non-invasive aesthetical treatments and dermatology has been influenced by both my career aspirations and personal experiences. Although I don't specifically specialize in dermatology, I am passionate about longevity, vitality, and strength enhancement. I have realized that skin health and these other areas are inextricably linked, therefore it is now one of my main priorities. My awful childhood acne experiences, exacerbated by a dermatologist's erroneous therapy that led to allergic reactions and pigmentation disorders, spurred my interest in dermatology. The value of gentle, holistic methods of skin care, which emphasize the roles of psychology and nutrition in achieving optimal skin health, was highlighted by this first-hand experience. All diseases, including skin ailments, have psychological underpinnings, in my opinion.

I have committed myself over the years to lifelong learning and professional growth, enhancing my routine activities with in-depth research and consultations with medical specialists. I have gone to conferences, watched surgeries, and certified according to the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). However, the most insightful learning experiences have come from working with patients and friends who I have been able to help using the most recent medical research discoveries, pharmaceutical insights, and psychological techniques.

My area of expertise is in holistic skin care, with a focus on the most gentle techniques for restoration and revitalization. I utilize an extensive range of expertise in longevity techniques, energy augmentation, and psychological literature to provide a complete approach to skin issues. My mission is to enable people to get not only glowing skin but also general health and energy.

Tell us about Medical Aesthetics. What led you to co-found the firm?

As I grew older, my stubborn problem area became more evident, particularly in my thighs and stomach. I wasn't keen on the idea of liposuction and surgical procedures and that's when Dr. Petschke first introduced me to cryolipolysis about 10 years ago. It is a non-invasive fat reduction technique, and it proved to be game-changer for me.

Dr. Petschke and I share a strong passion for the role that technology may play in advancing medicine and providing relief. This led us to co-found Medical Aesthetics because we both wanted to expand our knowledge and offer treatment.

At Medical Aesthetics, we give priority to holistic well-being in addition to embracing cutting-edge technologies. Dr. Petschke remains a guiding light, providing consultation services and his knowledge.

"My mission is to enable people to get not only glowing skin but also general health & energy"

What are your current focus areas and priorities in terms of driving growth for the practice?

As one of the founding partners alongside Dr. Fabian Petschke and Philip Klinck, my goal is to build beauty and wellness resorts that utilize novel technologies, products, and services in the market. My main responsibility was to build a company from the ground up and invest in its setup.

My current priorities and areas of concentration center on advancing the practice's growth in several important areas. To start with, I am committed to improving our marketing initiatives to connect with a wider audience and convey the special value we provide. To deliver more individualized and efficient care, I am also working on creating new services, such as tracking and monitoring services for our patients. I am focused on building collaborations with ecosystem partners, including hospitals, longevity centers, and doctors. I believe that these partnerships are essential for extending our patients' access to rejuvenation and longevity treatments.

What are the major challenges that you encounter in your current role? How do you overcome the said roadblocks?

One of my first hurdles was figuring out how to go from a large organization to a tiny firm in a small village near Zurich. Even with our access to the newest information and technology, it was difficult to persuade the locals of the benefits we provided. Many people thought that bigger towns like Zurich were the only ones capable of such advancements.

Fighting the deluge of information in the sector has been one of the most enduring problems. There is a plethora of non-invasive treatment alternatives available to people, but it can be difficult to know what is effective and who to trust.

Another obstacle was the false belief that speedy outcomes equated to high quality. Impatience is a common emotion in bigger cities like Zurich, which makes individuals look for short fixes but our strategy of offering all-inclusive solutions in one place, together with individualized attention and knowledge, has drawn a discriminating customer base.

It has taken a diversified approach to overcome these obstacles. We have built a devoted clientele that forms the cornerstone of our expansion by placing a high priority on patient satisfaction and providing genuine value. We have been able to establish strategic alliances with well-known companies and reach a wide range of clients by taking advantage of our location in Schaffhausen, which is a booming commercial center. In the end, getting through these obstacles has confirmed how crucial patient-centered care, trust, and sincerity are to maintaining and growing our company.

What has been your success mantra over the years?

I have worked in a wide range of areas such as media, consulting, technology, financial services, and the health sector throughout my career. Each domain has taught and contributed to my development and growth. I have also learned to pick myself up after failures and keep moving forward.

My success mantra revolves around two simple yet crucial principles which are to pursue your passion and listen to your heart. It is extremely important to stay resilient in the face of difficulties and my perseverance has always led me to success.

Dr. Sinclair's dedication to understand aging and make longevity understanding accessible for everyone is inspiring.
