The Union Finance Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, expressed her hope that the two countries' relationship would continue to grow stronger, saying that India and the US are laying the foundation for a strong, tranquil, and harmonious global society.
"We are united and establishing solid foundations for a robust, peaceful, and harmonious global society," Nirmala Sitharaman said during a reception held at India House and hosted by Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu. I hope that the connection between the United States of America and India continues to strengthen, and we will all do our part to make that happen, she continued.
Gina Raimondo, the secretary of commerce for the United States, Taranjit, and Kurt Campbell, the National Security Council's coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs, were also present at the reception. The diversity and celebration of several festivals to mark the beginning of a new year were other topics covered by the Union Budget Minister at the occasion.
"It's incredibly motivating to see vivacious individuals in front of me, everyone coming to celebrate their own Vishu, Ugadi, and Navroz," she said. all at India House, though. These persons are all residing in India. And this variety has always existed. This is a nation that enjoys festivals, acknowledging its uniqueness, and doing so following the auspicious calendar, which each of us follows depending on the sun, moon, or horoscope. As a result, they are all at the same moment.
She also mentioned Bhimrao Ambedkar's claim that he fought for and stood up for India. She pointed out that despite being from the persecuted Dalit group, he joined the creation of the new India and collaborated with specialists to write the constitution. Nirmala Sitharaman stated during the event that the Indian diaspora's participation is crucial.
"Despite your warm memories of your own country, you have assimilated yourself. Yet you're now a part of the US and developing a thriving economy. Thus, we carry out that identical action. Even if there are variances across areas, people, and languages within India, when it comes to digital successes, India has made significant strides since the platforms support at least 15 languages, as required by the Indian Constitution. These languages don't exist. Naturally, there are dialects where individuals can only speak and write since they lack a script. Yet 15 of them are acknowledged by the Indian Constitution. Also, the majority of our platforms are now accessible in local languages, she continued.
Nirmala Sitharaman participated in a discussion on how the public and private sectors might collaborate on DPI earlier on Saturday in Washington, D.C., called "India's Digital Public Infrastructure - Stacking Up the Advantages," which was organized by the IMF.
