In a move to work towards bringing equality in the labor market and provide women with opportunities to improve their role in society, the Women’s Employment Forum launched at the Greek Campus in Cairo. Organized for the first time, the “Momken” platform collaborated with "Shaghalni,". The objective of the forum is to render job opportunities to women in different fields and stregthen them financially.

In order to help women who want to re-enter the workforce, the forum hopes to offer over 1,000 job opportunities. More than 70 businesses in industries including banking, education, healthcare, shipping, and telecommunications are providing these opportunities.

The forum will host a number of events, including seminars on entrepreneurship, empowering women in the workforce, and strengthening female leadership in the digital industry. Prominent figures from the "Shark Tank" series, such as engineers Ahmed Tarek and Mohamed Farouk, businessman Ayman Abbas, and Sharke Dina Ghabbour, are present at these seminars, along with numerous other subject matter experts.

The forum also includes open sessions with successful and inspirational women who have entered the workforce. Swimmer Randa El-Mahdy will talk about her motivational journey to become the first Egyptian and international swimmer to swim solo for 14 km in Lake Annecy, France, in five hours and 11 minutes.

Abeer El-Leithy, co-founder, Momken, said, “Since the launch of the 'Momken' platform two years ago, we have aimed to support and help women return to the labor market, regardless of their age or whether they have previous work experience or not. Through this forum, organized by Momken for the first time, we are working to provide women with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with company representatives in various fields to facilitate the employment process, learn about the opportunities available in the labor market, and assess the skills required for different jobs."

El-Leithy stressed that women consistently show more dedication, aptitude, and resilience in the workplace—especially in the Arab world. As a result, it's critical to provide them with the chance to advance their knowledge and apply it to sustainably grow society and the economy, which is currently a worldwide movement.

Radwa El-Attar, co-founder, Momken, stated, “We believe in the platform’s importance of providing opportunities for everyone. Currently, the participation of Egyptian women in the labor force is only 159% of the total labor force. Therefore, it is necessary to actively contribute to increasing and improving women’s participation in all fields. Through the forum, we are keen to provide workshops that enhance women's skills, engage in informed discussions, and connect with employers and academics so that every woman can better understand her potential and how she can positively and correctly move forward to secure a job opportunity."

The Momken platform was founded two years ago to support women who have never worked before or who have taken a hiatus from the workforce in order to launch their own businesses or reenter the workforce. Momken has established multiple successful partnerships and made a positive impact on women's employment. Since its launch, the platform has garnered over 500,000 visits, and over 70,000 women have registered on it.
