10 Female African Entrepreneurs receive Grant Funding of $100,000

10 female African entrepreneurs have received a grant funding of US$100,000 by the RevUp Women Initiative at the business showcase with the conclude of inaugural programme.

RevUp is an African women entrepreneurs dedicated initiative that provides mentorship, training in addition access to resources. The women in RevUp supports women who need help and assistance in growing their business, drive economic growth along with fostering gender equality.

The business showcase which was hosted by AfriLabs and Visa Foundation, organized an award ceremony. Amongst all attendees, the top 10 finalists were announced as winners while receiving US$10,000 in a grant. The finalists were selected through a comprehensive selection process.

AfriLabs’ director of programmes, Nanko Madu said in her remarks, “Investing in women isn’t just a moral imperative; it’s a strategic decision with far-reaching economic benefits.  As we strive for inclusive growth, it’s imperative that we recognise and harness the potential of women as drivers of economic development.” Prior to joining AfriLabs, Nanko was an associate at SCIDaR - Solina Centre for International Development and Research for 3 years and training team lead at World Bank.

The finalists include

1. Baby Grubz & Queen Amina Medical Integration from Nigeria,

2. Ecokud and Ziada from Kenya,

3. WaziEats and V’s VitaLife from Cameroon,

4. Mali Food and P.aktion from DRC, and

5. Ndiqala from South Africa.
