19 Women complete South Georgia Women's Leadership Initiative

South Georgia’s 19 ladies have celebrated a milestone after becoming the first group of women who has completed the ‘South Georgia Women’s Leadership Initiative‘ that was dedicated to empowering women to make an impact in the vicinity.

Georgia Power Company who was the founding Sponsor, has played a crucial role in the program that was being led by Chair of SGWLI Planning & Steering Committee, Toni Reid. She exclaimed. “This program year has surpassed the expectations of everyone. The leadership learnings through one another, support from across the region and engagement from leaders in our communities have contributed to a significant and successful first year. It is an honour to work alongside other phenomenal ladies from across the region facilitating a women's leadership program in our community that fosters the strong leadership needed to sustain the growth in our region for years to come.”

There were keynote speakers that includes Paige Dukes, County Manager of Lowndes County, Gladwin Vaugh Architecture’s two female architects. These three women resonated importance of women supporting women during the entire program.

Georgia Power in an alliance with the Board of Directors of South GeorgiaLEADS (SGL), has announced South Georgia Women’s Leadership Initiative’s first graduating class that includes Dale Rickett of Colquitt County, Colquitt County Schools Foundation; Carrie Viohl of Colquitt County, Southern Regional Technical College; Emily Watson of Colquitt County, UGA College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences; Tommie Beth Willis of Colquitt County, Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) South Georgia; Lori Clemons Gadson of Dougherty County, Keller Williams Realty Group; Lequrica Gaskins of Dougherty County, City of Albany; Cicily Florence of Lee County, entrepreneur/self-employed; Cindy Wisham of Lee County, United Way of Southwest Georgia;
