2024 Africa Women Entrepreneurs Program Grant Applications Now Open

The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) and the United States Department of State Africa Bureau have announced the application process for the 2024 Africa Women Entrepreneurs Program-Reimagined Grant in strategic cooperation. The program, which is currently in its second cycle, is only accessible to businesses from Namibia, Mauritania, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia.

The US Congress established the USADF as an autonomous organization committed to assisting and investing in African-owned and African-led businesses. The major emphasis is on activities that improve the lives and livelihoods of people in underserved regions throughout the continent. The grant program will provide grantees with funds ranging from $50,000 to $100,000.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Namibia, Mauritania, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia are the only countries eligible.
  • Must be entirely owned and controlled by Africans.
  • Legally registered and operating in the applicant nation for at least three years, with a minimum booking history of 12 months.
  • The company must be located and functioning in a USADF program nation.
  • Approval of the UEI was successful.
  • Submission of a thorough proposal detailing how the award funds will be used.
  • Business owners are not permitted to hold government posts.
  • The entity must be a for-profit company (non-profit entities are disqualified).

The application deadline is: January 21, 2024.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for female entrepreneurs to leverage financial assistance and contribute to their respective countries' economic progress.
