5th Forum For Women In Research To be Conducted by University of Sharjah

The 5th Forum for Women in Research is slated to be launched on 20th February by the University of Sharjah (UoS). The program is being run under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.

The two-day event is geared towards supporting women in the field of research at local, regional, and international levels. The theme for the forum is "QUWA: Together Innovating to Shape the Future".

So far UoS has received more than 297 research papers from 260 international universities across the globe. 40 impressive female researchers, irrespective of their fields will be given grants.

These scholarships will be awarded in four categories that address the most pressing issues and key research challenges in various fields, such as health sciences, biomedical engineering, technology, law, Islamic studies, fine arts and design, humanities, social sciences, communication, and business administration.

The event will feature motivating experiences shared by female researchers and will emphasize their impact on community service.

Namaa Women Advancement Establishment has supported the event as a Strategic Partner, Emirates Global Aluminium as Industry Partner, and Khorfakkan University as Academic Partner. The Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority (SEWA), Emirates NBD Group, and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) are Golden partners for the event.

Pfizer and AstraZeneca are the Medical Partners for the event and the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) is the event’s Energy partner. Technology Partners include Huawei, Intel, and Lenovo have come on board as the technology partners while the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center "Sheraa," is the Entrepreneurship Partner.
