Access Bank Disburses N17.5 Million in Grants to Female Entrepreneurs

A total of N17.5 million has been disbursed in grants by Access Bank for 10 outstanding female entrepreneurs. This fund has been given under the bank’s Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton initiative in an alliance with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

This program is a part of the W initiative of Access Bank, aiming towards the promotion of financial inclusion while driving growth of enterprises that are led by women. In addition, Simkay Foods got N5 million while the rest of the beneficiaries out of the 36 finalists were awarded grants between N500,000 to N4 million.

Founded in 1989, Access Bank is headquartered in Victoria Island, Lagos State with specialities in Financial Advisory, Digital Banking, Inclusive Banking, and Women Banking.

IFC Head of Office, Nigeria Christian Mulamula stated, “The skills and strategies gained through this program will enable you to overcome challenges, make informed decisions, and seize new opportunities. Empowering female entrepreneurs is not only a matter of equity but a vital driver of economic development.”

Simkay Foods Founder Rejoice Usim who’s also the overall winner said, “This achievement will enable us to expand our farmer database platform from two communities in Zaria and Kaduna to 19 states across northern Nigeria.”
