ACOC announces Inaugural Women's Leadership Council's Members

The inaugural Women's Leadership Council’s members has been announced by Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. The new initiative’s goal is to address the barriers for inclusion and workforce, specifically for women, as per ACOC statement.

In addition, WLC shall also put efforts in order to elevate as well as enable females in the workplace by picking out the barriers and supporting, assisting women while working with businesses, intending to implement successful policies that puts Abbotsford businesses in good position in the Fraser Valley.

Alex Mitchell, the CEO of ACOC stated, “At the ACOC we work to continuously champion, unite and advocate for our diverse business community. The Chamber has prioritized gender inclusion at the Board leadership level and across its operations and programs.  We believe the initiatives of the WLC will help us to advocate more effectively for the economic competitiveness of our City by ensuring we can spotlight the leaders and ideas that are shaping it.”

The council shall host programs in addition to workshops as part of its initial priorities that could help ACOC members to get education on these issues, offering resources that can aid businesses to improvise diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
