Emma Watson, a leading actress has made an investment previously in Hertility, a women’s health company. This investment was not disclosed earlier. Now, the company has reached a total funding of over $14 million, as per TechCrunch’s interview.
Being known for environmental interest and supporting women-led initiatives, Emma is an ambassador of UN Women Goodwill, helping the HeForShe campaign to launch that promotes gender equality.
Hertility Co-founder CEO Dr. Helen O’Neill stated that she has met Emma via one of her investors who realised that she is into women’s rights which would make her a natural fit as an investor.
Dr. Helen said, “Hertility was founded by women and focuses on women’s health — an area that historically hasn’t received enough attention or funding. By investing in a female-founded company that aims to revolutionize women’s healthcare, Watson contributes to empowering women in both business and health. It’s all about getting as many women as possible talking about their hormones and fertility and meeting them where they’re at to change behavior globally.”
Emma and Hertility’s alliance will bring better chances for women in health and her investment will push the company into a bigger market which shall eventually benefit other women.
