ADB Group Wins Salute to Excellence Award for 'Gender in Focus' Series

African Development Bank Group has been named as the winner of Salute to Excellence Award by America’s largest organisation of journalists and media-related professionals of colour. It received the award for Bank communications celebrating International Women’s Day as well as its ‘Gender in Focus’ series.

For a month-long series run of ‘Gender in Focus’ digital campaign, the bank was finalised for the National Association of Black Journalists’ online public relations and marketing award category. The campaign was led by the Agriculture, Human and Social Development Complex of the bank and its Communication and External Relations Department.

Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development of the Bank, Dr. Beth Dunford stated, “This recognition from the National Association of Black Journalists comes as the Bank increasingly takes a ‘One Bank’ approach to mainstreaming gender across our operations internally and across the continent.”

Adding to the statement, he said, “Our multimedia communications help tell the world through stories and testimony from Africa’s women, African Development Bank employees and our gender allies that African Development Bank Group is delivering solutions to reduce gender disparities across digital, economic, access to finance, and other sectors.”

This is significant milestone for the bank, encouraging them to take more forwarding steps towards women empowerment.
