Afghan Girls to Receive Scholarships, Virtual Training & Certifications

Followed by a recent news on Taliban’s repression over women/girls in Afghanistan, Antony Blinken who is the U.S. Secretary of State, has announced a new partnership program for which is designed to empower Afghan women. This program shall be a good opportunity for the women in Afghanistan to contribute in the economy and development after being skilled.

Antony Blinken revealed in a meeting with Afghan Women Economic Resilience Summit (AWERS), that Linkedin and Microsoft shall provide Afghan women globally, with virtual training and certifications. This will help them to gain valuable skills and connect with potential employers. AWERS is an US-Founded group which was established in the year 2022. AWERS’ key focus is to empower Afghan women/girls both, inside and outside, their homeland.

Antony is a statement at State Department gathering in Washington said, “We are investing in skills, training, jobs, and female entrepreneurs. This mission is more important than ever.” He added, “The Taliban's restrictions are suffocating Afghanistan's potential.”

Moreover, Scholarships will be provided with to Afghan women/girls by U.S. academic institutions who got settled in the United States over last 2 years. Along with training programs, education is equally important for the progress of Afghan women as well as girls. Both the opportunities, Scholarship and partnership program, shall help women to get exposure of the outside world and showcase their skills.
