The All-China Women's Federation recently hosted the China-Africa Women's Forum, a four-day event that showcased the active involvement of the National Council for Women of Egypt (NCW). In a statement released by the NCW on 1st May 2023, it was revealed that councilwoman Mary Beshara represented the NCW at the event, standing in for NCW chairman Maya Morsi.
During the forum, Beshara highlighted Egypt's unique position as the only nation worldwide to successfully implement the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030. This comprehensive strategy encompasses the 2030 National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women, demonstrating Egypt's commitment to advancing gender equality.
Beshara seized the opportunity to discuss Egypt's remarkable achievements in women's empowerment across various sectors and at all levels of society. The NCW's participation in the event emphasized the deep connections between Egypt and China, particularly in their longstanding collaboration on economic empowerment and entrepreneurship for women.
With a focus on female empowerment in China and Africa, the forum aimed to explore how women can work together and assume greater responsibilities in society. It provided a platform for meaningful discussions and the exchange of ideas, fostering cross-cultural learning and cooperation among women from both regions.
The China-Africa Women's Forum not only strengthens the ties between China and Africa but also serves as a significant milestone in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment. The participation of the NCW alongside the All-China Women's Federation demonstrates their shared dedication to creating a more inclusive and equitable world for women.
