The 137th president of the Harvard Law Review is Apsara A. Iyer who is a second-year law student. Apsara made history by being appointed as the first Indian American woman to hold this position. One of the oldest student-run legal scholarship publications, The Law Review was founded in 1887. The review’s first leader was former President Barack Obama.
Apsara was appointed as the President by going through a selection procedure known as "write-on," which is a fact-check document. Many HLS students have appeared in this procedure where Apsara succeeded.
In an interview, Apsara told the Harvard Crimson, a student of the newspaper of Harvard University that she hopes to incorporate more editors in the process of reading and selecting articles and uploading them with a reputation of "high quality" work.
Priscila E. Coronado who is recognized as the predecessor of Apsara said in the Law Schools Press Release of Jan 30, that the publication is 'very happy' to have her at the helm. She will change the lives of many editors for the betterment purposes. She mentioned Apsara’s excellence and intelligence in several parts. She is also a fierce advocate with remarkable confidence and thoughtfulness. In 2018 she began her work in the office before joining Law School.
Besides becoming the President, she was also involved in Law Schools Harvard Human Rights Journal and the National Security Journal.
