APWEN trains 25 Female Engineers with AutoCAD skills

A total of 25 female engineers have been trained by Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Lagos Chapter on essential AutoCAD skills with an intent to boost technical competence of members. APWEN was founded in the year 2018 with headquarters in University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos while serving in Engineering Services industry.

The training has been given to these female engineers for enhancing their effectiveness and efficiency. This particular training continued for 5 weeks, seeking to support the participants for developing a better understanding on the usage of AutoCAD’s tools for creating, editing as well as saving drawing. Some of the other skills of AutoCAD trainees included 3-D modelling, layering techniques, construction documentation, drawing set-up, plotting functions in addition to Model space/paper space design alongside basic troubleshooting.

Dr Atinuke Owolabi, the APWEN Lagos Chairman stated, “This programme empowered 25 female engineers, with each participant receiving a certificate of completion to recognise their dedication and hard work. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the facilitators of this training programme, particularly the Managing Director of Infraserv Nigeria Limited, and his team for their invaluable contributions and transfer of lifelong knowledge to our female engineers to enable them to contribute to social and economic development of the country.”
