The master-developer Arada plans to throw a significant Emirati Women's Day celebration that encourages sustainable and conscientious behaviour in homes. The event will empower Emirati women to drive the movement towards a more sustainable future in partnership with Manbat, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa).
The event, which takes place in the lively neighbourhood of Aljada, is organised around the official subject for this year: "We Collaborate for Tomorrow." Two cutting-edge seminars that support the UAE's commitment to sustainability goals will be included at the event, highlighting the essential role that women play in bringing about change.
The ladies-only event will take place in YourSpace, an events space located in Madar, Aljada's centre for family activities. The event, which is slated for Sunday, August 27, at 3pm, will feature two interactive workshops.
The Plant Workshop will lead participants through do-it-yourself planting activities and sustainable farming methods under the direction of accomplished self-taught specialist in home organic farming Eman Al-Marri. Respected media personality Eman Al-Marri wants to promote locally sourced food for families and persuade households to utilise more sustainable agricultural techniques.
Fatema Showaiter, a seasoned Emirati chef and the brains behind Sharjah's Ark Coffee café and restaurant, will lead the Sustainable Pantry Workshop, which will focus on home sustainability practises. Manbat will provide attendees with the opportunity to personally create a dinner utilising ingredients from farms in the UAE.
In line with the UAE's 2030 sustainability goals, Hend Almansoori, Project Manager - Events at Arada, described the event's significance: "This Emirati Women's Day, we're proud to team up with Sheraa to help encourage our community and local families to put the UAE on the road towards agricultural self-sufficiency. The opportunity to learn techniques for daily sustainability in the house for the entire family is priceless at this programme.
"These two workshops by Sheraa and Arada honour these age-old civilizational practises and seek to continue this national legacy, by empowering Emirati women with the knowledge and skills they will need to be the heart and soul of UAE's sustainable development journey," said Iman Ben Chaibah, Community Department Manager at Sheraa, in a statement highlighting the significance of the event in the context of the country's sustainable development journey.
The purpose of the event is to equip Emirati women with the abilities and information they need to support the nation's sustainable development objectives. The workshops are open to the public, however registration is necessary through the Sheraa website.
Aljada is conveniently accessible from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Dhaid Road, and University City Road in Sharjah's Muwaileh neighbourhood. The event emphasises the crucial role played by women in bringing about good change within families and communities as it focuses on collaboration for a sustainable future.
