The Arvada Chamber of Commerce has renamed one of its initiatives ‘Badass Women of Arvada’ to ‘WOW Women of Arvada’ after getting suggestions to rename it from businesses, community members and Chamber of Commerce board members. Arvada Chamber of Commerce, which was established in the year 1925, has dedicated itself to the honour of women in local business from past consecutive years.
The Chamber said in one of its statements, “The name should be more accessible to our business community while aligning with the Chamber’s mission.”
WOW Women of Arvada, this program shall showcase the efforts made by community’s women. These women have been selected on the basis of community nominations. Additionally, the program includes a feature on its website along with social media platforms.
Kami Welch, the CEO and President of Arvada Chamber of Commerce said, “The WOW Women of Arvada campaign provides a platform to honour women leaders in Arvada, promote an inclusive business environment, and inspire a sustainable, competitive growth of women business owners in the city.”
Director of Human Resources at Barber-Nichols, Rachel Jaakkola is one of the featured women for the program since she has grown her business from 75 employees to more than 200 employees. She says in her comment for the program, “There are so many women in this community that put their hearts and souls into the work they do but are too humble to tell anyone about it. It’s important to have platforms like this to highlight these women and show all the amazing accomplishments they have had behind the scenes and bring it to the forefront.”
This year’s program WOW Women of Arvada shall help women to showcase their business and certainly, there will take a speedy-pace after that.
