A new hotel general manager development program ‘WomenRISE’ has been launched by Atrium Hospitality. The program is solely dedicated to women leaders. Headquartered in Georgia’s Alpharetta, the firm is a leading hotel and asset management company that was founded in the year 2015 while working to maximize the financial performance of every property and investment.

Chief human resources officer of Atrium, Anneliesse Cooper said in a statement to Hotel Business, “With WomenRISE, we hope to hasten the career paths of women in hospitality, a group that tends to be underrepresented at the general manager level. WomenRISE will prepare female leaders and build their confidence to take the next steps to pursue a hotel GM role.”

The inaugural class of WomenRISE contains 9 participants from Arizona, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas which are Atrium-managed hotels. These participants have been selected from the firm’s portfolio-wide talent review that took place in 2023 and they come from different departments that includes operations, sales and marketing and finance.

Anneliesse added, “I serve as the executive sponsor of Atrium Hospitality’s Diversity & Inclusion Collective, which is comprised of representatives from across Atrium’s national management portfolio of 80 hotels. WomenRISE brings to life an original idea that was generated by the D&I Collective and that easily gained support from senior leaders. Atrium’s new female GM development program demonstrates our company’s commitment to empowering female hospitality leaders to successfully navigate the next steps in their career journeys.”
