AUS-NZ Women in Leadership Summit Empowers Croatian Women

Biograd na Moru, Croatia, will play host to the highly anticipated 2023 AUS-NZ Women in Leadership Summit from July 14 to 16. Over 100 professional women of Croatian heritage hailing from Australia and New Zealand are expected to attend this empowering event.

The summit serves as a platform to explore and discuss the multitude of opportunities that arise from global connections for Croatian women both in their homeland and abroad. Under the theme "Innovation, resilience, achievement: Croatian women leading," participants will delve into the remarkable contributions and successes of Croatian women.

The AUS-NZ Croatian Women in Leadership organization, co-founded by Sonja Palic and Croatia's Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, H.E. Betty Pavelich, is at the forefront of uniting professional women of Croatian heritage and fostering connections with like-minded individuals in Croatia.

Comprised of female entrepreneurs, professionals, business owners, corporates, university students, and graduates, the organization has grown into a thriving business networking initiative boasting a membership of over 500 women. Their shared objective is to support and empower women of Croatian heritage as they navigate their careers.

Central to their efforts is the annual Women in Leadership Summit, which forms an integral part of the organization's event series. Previous summits have seen esteemed speakers such as Croatia's former President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina (Bošnjak) Carrol share their insights and experiences.

This year, the Ilirija Resort in Biograd na Moru, which represents a significant Australian investment in Croatia, has been selected as the venue for the summit. The choice reflects the commitment to fostering international connections and creating an empowering environment for the attendees.

The summit will be further enhanced by the participation of Australia's Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Richard Rodgers, who will extend a warm welcome to the delegation at his official residence in Zagreb on July 13th. Additionally, Australia's Ambassador for Gender Equality, Stephanie Copus Campbell, will address the summit virtually, adding her invaluable perspective to the discussions.
