The annual conference and awards are already accepting registration, according to the Africa Women Innovation and Enterprise Forum (AWIEF). The famous AWIEF event, now in its ninth year, will take place on November 9 and 10, 2023, at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) in Kigali, Rwanda.
More than 1,300 entrepreneurs and startups, industry experts, thought leaders, policymakers, and change-makers from the government, corporate, and development sectors come together on AWIEF, which has grown to be Africa's leading platform for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology, for impactful discussions and dialogue on new ideas, initiatives, strategies, and solutions to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, digitization, intra-African trade, investing, food security, and climate change.
Last year's speakers included Jackie Jones, Director of the Gender Equality Division of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, H. E. Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H. E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Solomon Quaynor, Vice President of the Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization, and Izabela Milewska, Global Leader of Digital Skills (AWS).
The William & Melinda Gates Foundation, AWS, Afreximbank, Sparkle, and Africa Europe Foundation were among the sponsors. AWIEF 2023 will be a fully in-person event, returning to its former grandeur after being forced to go virtual and hybrid in 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Irene Ochem, the president and chief executive officer of AWIEF, stated: "We are thrilled to be bringing the 9th edition of our annual conference to East Africa for the first time, especially Kigali, one of the most dynamic cities in Africa right now. We are eager to intensify our efforts to link the African and international entrepreneurial ecosystem in this important centre for commerce, technology, and innovation.
AWIEF is providing a 15% early bird discount on all delegate tickets and exhibition reservations for a very short period. Online registration is now available at apo-opa.info/3JHKUem.
All AWIEF 2023 participants who are traveling to Rwanda from another country may apply for a visa at the airport when they arrive. Members of the African Union, Commonwealth, and La Francophonie are eligible for free 30-day visas upon arrival.
