AWIEF & Victoria's Secret partners to empower Nigerian Women Entrepreneurs

AWIEF (Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum) has partnered with Victoria’s Secret to give entrepreneurial opportunity to women founders/leaders. The initiative aims to provide opportunities to 20 women founders as well as leaders who belongs to pioneering, growth-stage businesses in Africa’s Nigeria. Through this initiative the female founders will have chance to participate in the 7-month investment readiness program.

Nigeria’s AWIEF Growth Accelerator focuses to aid businesses across several sectors specifically prioritizing technology-based and tech-enabled ventures i.e., agriculture, health, education, creative industries, financial services, renewable energy, logistics, and climate-smart solutions.

Criterias for selection:

  1. The businesses must have majority of women’s ownership or their products/services must be benefiting women directly to get the qualification of selection.
  2. The ventures must belong to Nigeria
  3. It should be in the post-revenue stage.
  4. The company should be running from past 3-years at least, highly innovative, and seeking investment to scale as well.

This initiative targets to foster gender diversity and economic empowerment. The participants who will pass the selection process and succeed shall get mentorship, training and networking opportunities to benefit their business and prepare for investment opportunities.

This particular approach serves as a testament for the thriving appreciation to women who are playing a significant role in driving economic growth and innovation. The initiative by AWIEF and Victoria’s Secret partnership shall help the female entrepreneurs to succeed in Nigeria's entrepreneurial ecosystem ensuring they get all the required tools and resources.
