Bacardi expands 'Shake Your Future' Program in India

International spirits company, Bacardi has announced to expand its free training program entitled ‘Shake Your Future’. The program’s primary focus is to aid unemployed and underrepresented young adults to build their careers in the mixology world.

The Shake Your Future program has organized an all-female cohort in India in order to alter the outlook of women in the bar industry in the country. The program offers an opportunity for women to gain necessary skillsets to build a long-term career in bartending industry.

The reason behind the success of the initiative is the collaboration between the company and founder of Bar Kala Academy, Nitin Tewari. He is a hospitality professional in addition to TED-Talk speaker.

In order to upskill the all-female class about bartending, the training sessions has been organized in Bar Kala Academy.

The classes covered topics that includes:

1. Beverage basics

2. Mixology

3. Flairing

4. Complementary business areas (personal branding, social media and communication, industry insights)

Additionally, the female graduates of this Shake Your Future program are now working at significant hotels. One of the female qualifiers was crowned as the winner of GREY GOOSE® House of Change India bartending competition as well.

This program has challenged the stereotypes and assisted females in bartending to thrive for more and strengthen their careers.
