Belinda Rowe has been appointed as an independent member of the Sky board, effective March 1, 2023, according to a statement from Sky Network Television New Zealand.
With Publicis Media, Zenith, Mojo, and O2 Telefonica, among others, Belinda has held worldwide leadership positions in marketing, communications, digital, and media. Additionally, she led the development of a successful content marketing and sports sponsorship strategy in 32 markets.
Belinda has experience in governance, having served as a non-executive director at 3P Learning Ltd., Temple & Webster Group, and HT&E Ltd., an ASX-listed Australian media firm. She is on the boards of the AFL team Sydney Swans and Soprano Design, a multinational provider of technological services.
Belinda is passionate about empowering and advancing female leaders. She is a member of the Marketing Academy, Mentor Walks, Chief Executive Women Australia, Women in Advertising and Communications London, and the Minerva Network promoting women in sport.
Belinda’s appointment was warmly received by Sky TV chairman Philip Bowman, who added: "Belinda brings to the Sky board a very pertinent set of qualifications and worldwide experience. Belinda will offer a valuable perspective to Sky's business thanks to her leadership expertise in global service marketing and communications and her solid governance background in media, technology, and sport. We are happy that she accepted our offer to attend the Sky board.
Belinda, who is based in Sydney, could join the Sky board on March 1 and run for re-election before Sky's shareholders at the following annual meeting. The board has decided that Belinda will serve as an independent director, following NZX Listing Rules 2.6.1 and 2.6.2.
