Beyonce Creates History at 2025 Grammys Wins her first ever Album of the Year

At the 2025 Grammy’s, Beyoncé won three awards at , including Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "II Most Wanted" with Miley Cyrus. Held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the night marked major milestones, as Beyoncé became the fourth Black woman to win Album of the Year, the first Black woman to win Best Country Album, and the first in 50 years to win in any country category.

"I feel very full and honored," Beyoncé said while accepting her Album of the Year award. She thanked the Grammys, collaborators, and producers, dedicating the win to Ms. Martell. Before the 2025 Grammys, Beyoncé received the most nominations of any artist, with 11 nods, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Country Song for "Texas Hold ‘Em," along with wins in three categories.

In the Album of the Year category, Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter competed against André 3000's New Blue Sun, Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet, Charli XCX's Brat, Jacob Collier's Djesse Vol. 4, Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft, Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department.

"Texas Hold 'Em" competed in the Song of the Year category against tracks like "Birds of a Feather," "Fortnight," "Good Luck, Babe!" and "Not Like Us." Also nominated were Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' "Die With a Smile," and Sabrina Carpenter's "Please Please Please."

Beyoncé competed for several country music awards against top artists like Malone, Musgraves, and Stapleton. She was nominated for Best Country Album, Song, Solo Performance, and Duo/Group Performance.

Beyoncé’s other nominations spanned various genres. In the pop categories, she competed for Best Pop Solo Performance against "Espresso," "Birds of a Feather," "Good Luck, Babe!" and Charli XCX's "Apple." For Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, she faced "Die With a Smile," Charli XCX and Billie Eilish's "Guess," Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift's "Us," and Ariana Grande, Brandy, and Monica's "The Boy Is Mine."

For Best Melodic Rap Performance, Beyoncé went up against Jordan Adetunji and Kehlani's "Kehlani," Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd's "We Still Don't Trust You," Latto's "Big Mama," and Rapsody and Erykah Badu's "3." In Best Americana Performance, she competed against Madison Cunningham's "Subtitles," Madi Diaz and Kacey Musgraves' "Don't Do Me Good," Sierra Ferrell's "American Dreaming," Sarah Jarosz's "Runaway Train," and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings' "Empty Trainload of Sky."
