Black Door Society and Women Elevating Women, organizations based in Baltimore, have come together to ensure the female businessmen receive support to face the hurdles of conducting business. Black Door Society provides consulting for an early-stage startup, whereas Women Elevating Women supports business owners with 6-figure revenue. They jointly plan to be able to narrow down that gap and enable more women to be empowered and excel.

As Betty Hines, the founder and CEO of the Women Elevating Women organization, noted, it is essential for women to support each other and unite as far as career progression is concerned because cooperation enables people to progress faster. She also notes that they lack strategic networks and capital as well as financial resources, which are specifically tough for Black women.

Betty also notes that, echoing the ‘good old boy network’, her form of networking is more in social contexts such as brunches, lunches and the like. This innovative strategy is aimed at opening up profitable opportunities and networks for women engaged in business.

The collaboration is a step in the right direction for helping women business owners through consulting and networking opportunities.
