The BNY Mellon Women's Opportunities ETF invests primarily in businesses that implement gender-equitable workplace policies or offer goods or services2 that improve women's capacity to meet their work or other personal life obligations and needs, such as those relating to household duties, caring for dependents and elders, and access to healthcare tailored to their gender. Julianne McHugh and Miki Behr, both from Newton, share management of the Fund.
BNY Mellon Investment Management has collaborated with Girls Inc., a non-profit that encourages all girls to be strong, intelligent, and courageous via advocacy and direct service, as part of its continuous commitment to gender equality.
In addition, the investment advisor to the Fund, BNY Mellon ETF Investment advisor, LLC3, will give Girls Inc. at least 10% of the management fee4. In appreciation of their influential work empowering girls and young women to realise their full potential, Girls Inc. and its New York branch, Girls Inc. of New York City, will also receive grant support from the BNY Mellon Foundation.
"Gender gaps have economic effects; if women and men participated equally in the economy, the global annual gross domestic product could increase by an additional US$28 trillion by 20256," said Ms. McHugh.
"We believe that companies that support women, cultivate robust cultures, offer attractive benefit packages in the workplace, as well as deliver offerings which inspire women, are positioned to perform better over time."
The BNY Mellon Innovators ETF invests in innovation-driven companies to capture transformational growth opportunities.
