An online community, the BOSS Network alongside Sage has announced the 2024 ‘Invest in Progress’ Grant’s 25 awardees. The program has been launched to assist Black women entrepreneurs in their first 5 years of business. The BOSS Network aims at supporting women on their journey to become independent and successful in their career or entrepreneurial endeavours whereas Sage is a leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology dedicated for small and medium-sized businesses.
The grant is a 3-year programme where sage has committed $1.5 million to assist BOSS Impact Fund which runs with an aim to raise investment funding for 500+ black women-led businesses in addition to preparing the female entrepreneurs to build scalable businesses.
The BOSS Network’s CEO and Founder, Dr. Cameka Smith stated in a comment, “The BOSS Network has been proud to have Sage as a partner of the Invest in Progress Grant, as a part of our BOSS Impact Fund. As we celebrate our three-year mark, we are pleased to say that this investment has greatly impacted the lives of 85 Black women entrepreneurs—who have each received $10,000 to fund their businesses. It is widely known that less than 1% of minority founders get investment funding for the start of their small businesses. There is also the challenge of Black female founders being indiscriminately targeted simply for fighting for equity and fairness at the table. With the continued help of supporters such as Sage, The BOSS Network will remain committed to giving Black women entrepreneurs the resources they need to win.”
In the first month of 2024, the participants have been invited to apply for the grant that was giving an opportunity to 25 Black women entrepreneurs across the United States and get a chance to receive a capital investment of $10,000.
