BWCCI & CIPE organizes Workshop on Workplace Gender violence

Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) in collaboration with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has organized “Awareness Raising Workshop on Gender Based Violence at the Workplace”. The Workshop took place at Lakeshore Heights, Gulshan in the capital on March 19, 2024.

BWCCI President, Selima Ahmad was heading the workshop alongside CIPE Director, Barbara Langley as the workshop’s Chief Guest. Besides these two honourable persons, BWCCI Senior Vice President, Sangita Ahmed; BWCCI’s Vice President, Sabina Alam and BWCCI Director, Ridma Khan also marked their presence as conferees.

Advocate at Bangladesh Supreme Court, Shaila Parvin Pia also attended the workshop as a resource person along with 4 Board of Directors in addition to 23 General members who took part in the workshop.

During the workshop, a short presentation on Gender Based Violence was also shown to the attendees and there was an open discussion as well that held after the discussion. In addition to the discussion, a short ‘QnA’ session was also arranged in the workshop in which all the women entrepreneurs participated. The participants of the workshop were requested to raise awareness on gender equality in the society as well as in organization level.

This workshop by BWCCI and CIPE gave a friendly platform for all the women to understand and discuss about the gender violence in their workplace and find solutions for the same.
