On October 5, 2023, DMZ, in collaboration with the YMCA of Greater Toronto, launched the "Launchpad for Women Entrepreneurs" initiative. This dynamic project aims to encourage aspiring and early-stage female entrepreneurs from a variety of backgrounds and sectors.

The initiative targets the gender inequality in entrepreneurship and is funded by the Government of Canada's Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) Ecosystem Fund. Despite the fact that women-led firms have greater returns and lower failure rates, women frequently face difficulties when beginning and running their own enterprises.

The curriculum is available throughout the country, with on-demand self-paced study and in-person seminars available in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. It serves women at different phases of their business career.

Lesley Davidson, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toronto, emphasized the program's ability to assist women in overcoming obstacles and reaching their full entrepreneurial potential. Abdullah Snobar, Executive Director of DMZ, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in providing assistance to underprivileged people.
