A new collaboration has been announced by Carlow County Council and its Local Enterprise Office. They are joining hands with Powerhouse Women in Business Network, County Carlow Chamber, South East Technological University (SETU) and Carlow County Development Partnership. The collaboration has been made in order to empower women.

There will be an International Women’s Day event in Carlaw which shall take place on March 8, 2024. The key aim of the event is to celebrate the accomplishments of women locally as well across the world while brining the county together. Besides this, the event will also encourage individuals towards fostering a more gender-inclusive and equitable society.

The lunch panel event shall take place at around 11:45 am at Woodford Dolmen Hotel soon after the arrival of Business Advisor and Co-ordinator of Powerhouse Network, Melissa Doyle. One key factor of the event would be the panel discussion which shall be moderated by Shona Lyons. The discussion will put emphasis on the accomplishments of women from significant speakers. President of County Carlow Chamber, Rowena Dooley will be delivering a concluding speech after the discussion.

Speakers of the Panel discussion includes:

Sarah Byrne who’s the Business Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office, in her statement said, “We look forward to hearing this dynamic panel who represent both community and business. In the realm of leadership, gender should never dictate ambition. Breaking through the perceived barriers that deter women from stepping up is not just a stride towards equality; it's a seismic shift in the paradigm of progress.”

She added, “True leadership in business and community arises when every voice, regardless of gender, is empowered to rise above preconceived limitations.”

The entire event is for all the women across the globe. It doesn’t charge anything to attendees and anyone can attend the event. The interested people can get all the information about the event on Carlow Local Enterprise website.
