Central Bank of Egypt launches Initiative for Women Entrepreneurs

In order to aid women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses in all sectors, Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has launched a new initiative entitled as ‘Women for Women in FinTech’ on April 4, 2024. The initiative shall provide innovative solutions to the women running their own businesses.

The ‘Women for Women in FinTech’ is a 6-month initiative that falls under CBE launched “Accelerate'ha" initiative which was dedicated towards the development and upliftment of innovative FinTech solutions that meet the needs of women entrepreneurs.

The new initiative offers intensive training sessions and workshops on different fields to women entrepreneurs in Egypt while urging them to adopt innovative FinTech solutions in their businesses. Deputy Governor of CBE, Rami Aboul Naga, expresses, “This initiative contributes to the efforts aimed at localizing FinTech applications, through supporting the unique potentials and talents of entrepreneurs, specifically female entrepreneurs.”

Additionally, 12 startups have been selected by the initiative to participate in addition to delivering presentations regarding the benefit of embedded lending and payment programmes for their new business proposals.

This initiative shall provide women entrepreneurs in fintech to get a better understanding of running their business in the industry while equipping themselves with fintech solutions. During the sessions, the participants will get the opportunity to hear from top women leaders in the FinTech sector within the financial and banking industry.
