On the occasion of the Law Ladies Day event at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in Nigeria, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) carried out a campaign to educate women about the eNaira.

The goal of the effort is to further encourage the use of eNaira among Nigerians who gathered for the 2023 Law Ladies' Day celebration at UNILAG, Yaba Lagos, including ladies, students, and law students.

Defying Stereotypes, celebrating the Different Shades of Femininity was the topic of the Law Ladies' Day programme.

Mary Fasheitan, Special Adviser Payment Systems to the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, told women that it was past time for them to embrace using eNaira for transactions. She discussed the value of the virtual currency and the advantages and opportunities it provides to both the financial community and women.

She claims that eNaira fills a gap left by other financial tools by providing women with inclusion and financial independence. It provides quick transaction times, cross-border payment options, and financial inclusion for women.

She remarked, "eNaira offers a distinctive type of Naira-denominated money. When compared to cash payments, eNaira offers improved payment prospects in retail transactions, acting as both a means of exchange and a store of value. Its unique operational structure is very impressive and different from other types of central bank money.”

The CBN introduced many cashless policies, including e-Naira, in response to the fact that the entire globe was moving towards digitization. She said that the CBN is the first central bank in Africa to do so and the second in the entire world to do so.

Mary recommended female legal students to use eNaira since transactions are risk-free, safe, and totally digital with it. In response, she allegedly said, "You have nothing to fear as it is one of the most secured channels from the apex bank for transactions."

eNaira is a fantastic idea of CBN that should be commended, according to Deborah Enyone Oni, managing partner of Hilton Top Solicitors, who also spoke at the occasion.

She claims that "eNaira provides its users with a number of benefits and chances. Additionally, it's blockchain technology feature makes it simple for users to conduct cross-border transactions. She emphasised once more that the eNaira will promote the financial and economic empowerment of women.

Deborah commented on the exercise in a statement on the eNaira, saying, "We have partnered with the CBN on the eNaira and one of our main focuses is to leverage the opportunity to empower women by educating them on the benefits of the eNaira in light of digitalization."

For women-focused programmes like this, Deborah said, "Conversations about women's financial and economic empowerment should be considered a priority in order to expose them to the opportunities they can leverage and, as a result, be able to participate and harness the opportunities in a digital economy.

In conclusion, the eNaira was introduced to the students, who were eager to discover more about the advantages of the central bank's digital money.

Kehinde Adeaga, a student, stated, "Up until now, we weren't sure what eNaira was, but the team's explanation has made it extremely apparent to us. Some of us have already joined the initiative, and we will let others know about it who are still unaware of the advantages and opportunities that eNaira presents.
