Trinasolar, a Chinese photovoltaics company, signed the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), reaffirming its unwavering commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
The WEP principles, developed through cooperation between UN Women and the UN Global Compact, are designed to assist multinational corporations in empowering women in the marketplace, the workplace, and the community at large.
Trinasolar has endorsed the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a global WEP signatory and plans to incorporate them into its business strategy and operations.
The business abides by the rules and legislation of the relevant jurisdictions. Additionally, it adheres to the guidelines established by global labor standards and human rights agreements, including the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
Women make up one-third of the company's board of directors. Through various activities, including organizing gatherings for women to share leadership, Trinasolar also promotes gender equality and women's empowerment.
Additionally, Trinasolar prioritizes gender equality in its hiring, advancement, and training procedures. Equal remuneration for equal effort is emphasized by the organization.
