In order to improve a shopping plaza on East 29th Street, an economic development grant has been approved by the City of Bryan while preparing for a new women-owned wellness hub. A Chapter 380 agreement with the City of Bryan holds the support for this initiative, providing up to $100,000 matching grant for façade and corridor beautification improvements.

Numerous local wellness and beauty businesses shall be introduced in the future East District that also includes Piranha Fitness Studio, SoCo Head Spa & Blow Dry Bar, and Dose Injection Lounge by Luna Skin. This particular initiative shall cater as a one-stop destination for wellness and beauty needs, according to those behind the project, that provides services such as hair styling, fitness classes, and spa experiences.

Bobby Gutierrez, Bryan’s Mayor stated, “We are thrilled to see the revitalization of the East 29th Street corridor by local, women-owned businesses. As a business-friendly city, this is exactly why we offer a Chapter 380 agreement—to support initiatives that rejuvenate key areas and drive economic development. These women business leaders are making a significant impact, and we are proud to support their efforts.”

Moreover, Marca Ewers-Shurtleff, the Councilwoman added, “The City of Bryan is thrilled to enter into a Chapter 380 economic development agreement with these businesses. They’re women-owned businesses that are going to be relocating to East 29th Street. This is particularly beneficial to all parties because it’s along one of our major thoroughfares, offering an incentive for businesses to relocate here to Bryan and giving them the opportunity to have reimbursements for improvements to those buildings.”
