City of Fairfax to offer $25,000 Grant to 5 Local Businesswomen

With a chance to receive grants for business, City of Fairfax is offering a total of $25,000 grant to five local women-owned businesses. Each business shall get $5,000 grant through Women’s Entrepreneur Grant Opportunity. This grant can be a great opportunity for the women entrepreneurs of the city to expand their business by making use of these grants.

“The purpose of the grant is to provide women-owned businesses in Fairfax City with consultation and capacity-building services which facilitate their growth, expansion, and development,” stated by Fairfax City Economic Development (FCED).

The businesses much be controlled or 51% owned by women in order to become eligible for the grant. Another criterion involves the business to be licensed within Fairfax City with having one or more locations in the vicinity while being in profit. In addition, startups as well as home-based businesses can also take part.

Businesses must identify the needed consulting or services upon applying for their business growth while selecting an intended consultant that can be used if they get the grant. On the basis of scoring criteria, the recipients shall get the grants and all the applications will be accepted until grants are awarded i.e., 5. However, by September 20, the recipients will be notified.
