Coca-Cola Philippines supports Programs for Women's Economic Empowerment

Coca-Cola Philippines has presented 2-programs at 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW). The programs are focused on women’s economic empowerment.

The session is taking place at UN Headquarters in New York with the time frame of March 11 to 22, 2024. UN member states, UN’s specialized agencies in addition to accredited NGOs all over the world shall attend this 2-week’s event as well.

Both the Coca-Cola initiatives underscores the commitment and dedication of the firm towards assisting women in addition to providing access to important business skills along with capital, and building collaborative networks.

The 2-Programs include:

  1. Digital Sari-Sari Store Training and Access to Resources (iSTAR) program
  2. Tindahan Extra Mile program (TEM): Balik PET Bottle Program

iSTAR program is in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) alongside six reputable civil society organizations whereas TEM Balik PET Bottle Program has collaborated with Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc. (BEST) along with the Philippine Association of Stores and Carinderia Owners (PASCO).

This partnership has been proved as a great alliance which is advancing technology in order to drive women’s economic empowerment. Coca-Cola Philippines approach with these two initiatives serves as positive step towards women’s progress.
