The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean has sent a high-level delegation to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) (PAM). The purpose of the delegation's visit was to learn more about the foundation's programmes for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
The delegation, which included Joana Lima, President of the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum, Maryam Majid bin Thaniya, Representative of the Federal National Council and Vice President of the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum, Fatima Zahraa Abdi, Second Vice President of the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum, and Celine Cervi, Parliamentary Secretary, was welcomed by Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director-General of the Foundation.
The Foundation's services, including its campaigns, projects, and educational programmes, were explained to the visiting delegation. They were also made aware of the victim rehabilitation programmes. A visit to Charity's facilities was also given to the delegation.
The foundation's acting director general commended the delegation's visit and said that it was one of several international delegations that had come to the foundation to examine its services and experience, exchange knowledge and expertise, and share successful initiatives.
She continued, "Since its founding in 2007, the Trust has established recognition as one of the top organizations in the fight against domestic abuse, child protection, and human trafficking offences.
A global organization, the Parliamentary Council of the Mediterranean includes 34 constituent parliaments from Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf regions.
In order to address shared problems confronting the Euro-Mediterranean region and the Gulf states, PAM's main objective is to promote political, economic, and social cooperation among its member states. It also aims to create an environment of peace, prosperity, and a high standard of living for the people in the region.
