Digital Penang & She Loves Tech organizes Startup Global Competition

A Penang State GLC, Digital Penang has confirmed its partnership with She Loves Tech which has been recognized as the world’s largest acceleration platform for women in technology. The firm also claims that its the largest global platform which is dedicated to closing the funding gap for women entrepreneurs.

Digital Penang is inviting women-tech founders from all across tech sectors to take part in the 2024 She Loves Tech Startup global competition’s tenth anniversary as the officials has appointed Malaysia-level Key Selection Partner for it. The event is promoting the crucial importance of gender inclusivity especially featuring Malaysian women tech founders.

Penang State EXCO for Infrastructure, Transport, and Digital, Zairil Khir Johari stated, “The collaboration between She Loves Tech and Digital Penang as the official Key Selection Partner of Malaysia for the global competition is a testament to the Penang state government’s commitment to pushing for greater awareness and inclusion of women in the technology space. This effort should not only be limited to Penang but broaden to the nation to provide opportunities for all women in the country to bring forth their innovation and solutions that are making an impact on the national economy.”

In order to take part in the competition, the participants specifically have to be women-led tech startups with a gender lens while having under US$5 million (RM24 million) seed funding in addition to having a least viable product beyond the conceptual stage. The application will be open between 22 April to 30 May 2024.
