Diversity, Equity & Inclusion event to be held by NYK Chamber St. E. Training and Education Center

Investing in Equity: Building an Inclusive Business Community, the largest DEI event of the year, will be held by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce (NKY Chamber) on Friday, June 9, 2023, which will start from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center, 3861 Olympic Blvd. In Erlanger.

The annual gathering on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Northern Kentucky business and healthcare sectors is in the second year.

According to NKY Chamber President Brent Cooper, "The NKY Chamber is committed to creating such a workplace culture that will be welcoming to everyone. St. Elizabeth Healthcare is the host sponsor for investing in Equity, and Fifth Third Bank is supporting this initiative.

The keynote speaker for this year will be Lillian Dukes, Senior Vice President of Technical Operations for Atlas Air. Lillian has an experience of 30 years and has also contributed to the development and transformation efforts for businesses like Spirit AeroSystems, GE, Beechcraft Corporation, American Airlines, American Eagle Airlines, and other innovations. Dr. Eddie Howard, vice president at Northern Kentucky University, will conduct a panel discussion which will include Melissa McDonald, director of global education at the Cincy World Affairs Council, Marla Harrington, HR manager at USI, LLC, and Jessica Wimsatt, who is a lawyer at Littler Mendelson PC.

The sessions will include, culture matters, the employer toolkit, and establishing associate resource groups to support equity, inclusion, and belonging.

The guest speakers include Ariel Murphy, Anne Hummeldorf, Davis Robinson, PhD., Julie McGregor, Danae Brown, Erin Bush, and Ricardo Horn.
