Donaldson Capital Management, a wealth management and advisory company with more than $3B of assets under management, has elected Kate Doerksen to its Board of Directors. Doerksen is an accomplished entrepreneur with a strong interest in developing technology companies. She is from Evansville, Indiana, and now lives in Danville, California.

"Kate is well-known for her operation and strategic foresight," explained Sarah Moore, CEO and President. "Her background in planning strategically and with technology will play a vital role as we go on to lead client-centric expansion."

Kate is a successful founder with a track record. During college, she started Hoopla, an online platform that brings together college basketball coaches and high school players. A standout Division one women's basketball player, she received several awards and played briefly for the Connecticut Sun. Following her retirement from basketball, she was an investment banking analyst at Citi and a private equity investor at Wind Point Partners, before returning to Stanford Business School to pursue an MBA.

At Stanford, Kate co-founded Ditto, a world leader in virtual try-on and AI-driven recommendation technology for the eyewear market. Its technology disrupted online eyewear shopping, reducing the price of eyeglasses by a substantial amount for Ditto's 70 million users. In 2023, she co-founded Sage Haven, aimed at creating a healthier dynamic between children, technology, and one another. During Q2 2025, Sage Haven will roll out its initial technology solution: a safer kids' messaging app with AI-fueled safety features for parents.

Kate becomes a member of the Board of Directors at DCM, which is presently made up of some very notable members. The board consists of Mike Hull, Chairman of the Board; Sarah Moore, CEO and President; Greg Donaldson, Founder; Steve Nichols; Sharon Reed-Walker; Rick Roop; Drew Runion; Marvin Wright, Senior Investment Advisor; Randy Alsman, Senior Investment Advisor; and Joe Zabratanski, Senior Investment Advisor and Chief Investment Officer.
