Recently, a medical doctor, entrepreneur, public speaker Dr. Adanna Steinacker has been announced to take the position of Senior Special Assistant to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, on Women’s Health.
Dr. Adanna is also a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment. Being a trailblazer, she is also the Founder and CEO of an international healthcare startup entitled as ‘Medics Abroad’. This startup facilitates clinical placements for medical professionals within Africa. After being appointed, Dr. Adanna will be responsible for driving advocacy, and leading initiatives that puts women’s and girl’s health and well-being at priority all across Nigeria.
She stated in a LinkedIn post, saying, “This role is an immense honour and a solemn call to service—a unique opportunity to champion the health and well-being of women and girls across Nigeria and, indeed, the African continent… I am deeply honoured to align my efforts with the Honourable Minister of Health, H.E Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, H.E Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim. Their leadership has laid a strong foundation, and I look forward to working alongside them to advance policies and programmes that strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare systems and empower women nationwide. Together, we will break systemic barriers, champion solutions, and ensure no woman or girl is left behind.”
In addition, she will be working with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Women Affairs, and key stakeholders while aiming at amplifying existing efforts, breaking down systemic barriers. She will also be implementing transformative solutions for women empowerment.
