Dr Mahamudu Bawumia Highlights reduction of Sexual Harassment in Ghana

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has proclaimed that the Mobile money interoperability has decreased the demand for sexual favours in addition to sexual harassment to women by public servants.

Governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer mentioned that financial inclusion has benefited women via mobile money interoperability. The firm has slaughtered the demands for sexual favours from women with minimal human contact in return for public service delivery. The vice president urged to have even better policies in order to ensure women’s inclusion along with employ their potential particularly, Ghana embraces the 4th Industrial Revolution

Dr Mahamudu stated, “The contribution of women in our national development, across all sectors, is massive. We have to include them more and Ghana will be the beneficiary as a country. It is imperative that we recognise the indispensable role of women in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. The digital revolution has brought unprecedented opportunities for growth and advancement, and women have immensely benefited.”

He continued, “In Ghana, we have witnessed the power of technology to break down barriers, foster collaboration, and empower individuals from all walks of life. However, to truly harness the potential of the digital age, we must ensure that women have equal access to resources, opportunities, and support systems. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, the role of women in leadership positions cannot be overstated.”
