Dubai Police has made history by launching its first all-female land rescue squad in 53 years, marking a significant step towards promoting gender equality in law enforcement. The team, composed of 16 highly trained female officers, is fully equipped to manage fire emergencies and perform search and rescue operations.

Female officers underwent six months of rigorous training, focusing on military drills, physical fitness, and specialized rescue techniques. The team showcased their skills during a September 2024 graduation event. The newly established squad can reach emergency scenes within seven minutes using specially designed patrol cars. Patrol cars are optimized to navigate traffic efficiently, ensuring quick response times.

Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri of Dubai Police called the initiative a significant milestone for Emirati women in supporting national progress. He emphasized that the female officers take immense pride in their roles, aiming to inspire other women who aspire to enter traditionally male-dominated fields.

This initiative not only enhances operational effectiveness but also furthers the advancement of female representation within law enforcement.
