EBRD initiates Funding for Georgia's Women-led MSMEs

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supported by European Union and Sweden has announced loan funding on March 12, 2024, for Georgia’s Women-led micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in order to benefit their business.

EBRD was established in the year 1991 and is a multilateral developmental investment bank having its headquarters in London. EBRD’s longtime partner, ProCredit Bank shall get a €8 million credit line. ProCredit Bank was established in 2012 having parent company as ProCredit Holding.

The women-led firms can operate to the that credit line for their finance investments to foster growth and progress for their firms. ProCredit Bank is joining the Women in Business (WiB) programme of EBRD which has support of EU and Sweden. This program provides support for women to have access to financing along with know-how through advisory services in addition to mentoring and training.

The European Bank is in support of the loan for women entrepreneurs which is under European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+) guarantee programme.

This funding program shall aid the women entrepreneurs for the growth of their business in Georgia. The MSMEs has always struggled to get funding or any financial support to grow and thrive in their sector but not anymore. This program serves as a hope for all the women-led firms that shall assist them their sectors.
